Robert's Farm Equipment Sales Inc. is a family owned business. Its founder, Robert Osterndorff, began working as a mechanic in 1959 for "Ahrens' Sales and Service" - the Ford dealer for the Hanover area. In 1964, Robert married Grace Frook and began farming in Brant Township. When Ahrens' closed that year, Robert started his own repair shop on the farm. This business was registered as "Robert's General Repair".
In 1968, Robert was approached by a Ford Motor Company representative and asked to take on the Ford tractor franchise. In September of that same year, the business officially opened on the Osterndorff homestead.
In 1989, Robert's Farm Equipment relocated to its current location on County Road 10, southeast of Chesley. Since then, the business has continued to grow and it now employs 22 people. Robert and Grace's three sons; Bruce, Brian and Barry, are an active part of the business. Bruce is the companies Sales Manager, Brian is the General Manager and Barry is a Sales Rep.
